Who are we?
We're YACSA, the Youth Affairs Council of South Australia.
We exist to advocate with and for young people and the sector that supports them. We know young people are the experts in their own lives, and strive to ensure decision makers are aware of, and acknowledge, this expertise.
The experiences, ideas, questions, concerns and opinions of young people are unique, which is why we do what we do- and why we have The Smashed Avocado. This is a platform for young people to learn about the decisions that are being made about their lives, and to talk about how those decisions affect them.
We support young people’s right to express their views and articulate their concerns to decision makers in all issues. YACSA acknowledges that their contributions through activism are a strong way to affect change and participate in democracy.
Whether it's info from us, news outlets, or from young people, this site is about giving you the information you need to learn about decisions and issues you're passionate about, and to help you drive change.
