So, what will you write about?

You could tell us about an event or experience, a cause you’re involved in, highlight an important aspect of an issue or respond to something that has happened- like this article we posted after the sexual assault allegations in parliament earlier this year here

Want to write but not sure where to start? We can help – our Digital Communications Officer can help you solidify your idea and decide on how you would like to present it. They will also help to proof read and make editorial suggestions for each piece submitted in a way that works whether that be in person or online.

For example, Dean who was our guest writer for IDAHOBIT, sat down with our Digital Communications Officer to plan his piece and then went through it with them to edit once he was done. You can read his piece here

What should it look like?

The world is your oyster!

You can explore issues or tell your story in any form you would like- want to keep it conversational? Great! Prefer to say formal? That’s cool too!

You can stick to just words or you can embed images, gifs and videos if you like.

You have free reign over structure too. You can write in a traditional blog post style, a Buzzfeed-style listicle, a letter or whatever else suits you and what you’re writing about.

What else?

  • Your article will need a title and an image

  • You don’t need to reference like a university assignment, but when referencing to anything specific we hyperlink to the original source – this makes it easy for anyone who wants more information or context to find it

  • You can criticise public figures for their actions, words and decisions but we aren’t attacking them personally

Fill out the form below with a brief description of what you have written or what you want to write and our Digital Communications Officer will be in contact as soon as possible.
